The German coach spoke about the current situation of the Egyptian star, who is one of the stars of the Reds

Liverpool started a new season under Jürgen Klopp, but the results are not what the club and the fans had hoped for. One of the team's stars, Mohamed Salah, is not at his best either, but the manager has backed him in the face of a low goalscoring rate. After a brilliant last season for the Egyptian, in which he shared the Golden Boot with Heung-Min Son by scoring 23 goals.

The reality for the African winger is not optimal: he only scored two goals in seven Premier League games. Faced with this dubious situation of the player, which is reflected in the team's performance, Klopp said in a press conference. "Salah is like that, even when his goalscoring numbers are not crazy, he is often involved, it's just the problem that if you don't score continuously, nobody appreciates it."

The result was not Liverpool's only disaster against Arsenal

Meanwhile, he praised the striker: "He's an exceptional player in a brilliant team and I don't think we should compare anyone to him at the moment," he said of comparisons with Erling Haaland.  He added: "Mo wants to score goals desperately, 100 per cent, that will never change. Call him up in 20 years and his attitude will be the same. The tactician also gave a review of his long spell with the Reds, which was seven years ago on Saturday:

"A period of such magnitude was by no means planned. I was coach of Mainz and after three years we were promoted to the Bundesliga, and three years later we were relegated. And he analysed his current cycle: "Being here for seven years is intense, no doubt. But it's also nice, I've recovered a lot of things. If there is a club that has the opportunity to go through this together, it's us.

With that in mind, and the chance of a vital win to set Liverpool on the road to a comeback, Liverpool will visit Arsenal, the potential leaders of the league if they can take all three points. It will be this Sunday, at the Emirates Stadium, where the Anfield side will be looking for their third Premier League victory.
