Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was dismayed to be asked about the growth of the Saudi Arabian transfer market, which has brought in a number of European stars with million-dollar bonanzas. The German tactician spoke out to the press, describing the Arab league's influence on European clubs as "enormous".
"The worst thing is that the transfer window in Arabia closes three weeks later. That doesn't help in Europe," Klopp said, calling on "FIFA and UEFA to find solutions" to close the transfer window earlier. The summer transfer window for Europe's top five football leagues closes on 1 September, while Saudi Pro League clubs can still sign players until 20 September.
However, some good news seems to be approaching Liverpool and especially Klopp, as according to journalist François Plateau: Liverpool will move quickly for an additional center back once the Roméo Lavia saga comes to an end. As previously stated, Liverpool is set to spend more than £100m from now until the end of the transfer window.
Given the amount he could have in the budget, Klopp could have the money to sign at least three more players. The first would be Romeo Lavia for around 45 million. The other would be Federico Redondo for around 5 million and finally, he could go for the Portuguese Goncalo Inacio for around 50 million.
