The German manager put pressure on his players ahead of the second round of the Premier League.

Liverpool's Premier League season did not start as planned. The draw against Fulham, recently promoted back to the top flight, has set off alarm bells for a team hit by the departure of Sadio Mané and the recent injury to Thiago Alcántara, who will be sidelined for several weeks.

That is why the fans are clamoring for the leadership of Luis Diaz as a reference in the offensive zone, as they fear that Mohamed Salah will not be able to fulfill the amount of goals that the Senegalese assured them. Although Darwin Núñez started the campaign with goals, it was not enough to beat an opponent that, on paper, seemed easier than it turned out to be.

Klopp unveils Liverpool's plan for the remainder of the summer window

Klopp insists that his team should have come away from Craven Cottage with the win, but they suffered from a slow start and lack of effectiveness, which gave Fulham the wings to think it was possible to take a point. Luis Diaz, who had already been told by the manager himself that he could play better than he did on his debut, was also part of the equation.

"I think Luis narrowly missed the goal. Against Fulham he had very good moments, very good situations. He had two chances, one went to the post, I think, or the crossbar, and then he was blocked in another situation," the German said.

Klopp trusts in Diaz

Despite the 'ear-pulling', Klopp is blindly confident that the gloveman has the conditions to take the baton in the Reds' attack. "He lacked a bit of luck, then he will score and that will also help him enormously. But apart from that, the attack was not our problem last weekend," he concluded.
