Liverpool beat Napoli 2-0 on the final day of the UEFA Champions League. In this Group A match, the English side managed to break the Italian club's good run of form. After his club's performance, Jürgen Klopp praised the work of his players:
"Tonight we showed everything. We were able to show very good football and our defence was on another level. You can't allow that at any time. Napoli are a really strong team at the moment. It was expected to be a very difficult game for us, but the boys did very well and that's why it wasn't difficult.
Klopp tired of waiting for Mbappé's tantrum, now goes for this starlet
Napoli came into this game unbeaten. In Serie A they accumulated 10 wins and 2 draws with 0 defeats with 32 points. In the Champions League they had 5 wins in all matches against Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers. In this last matchday the English managed to win and thus end the unbeaten streak of the Italians:
"A very difficult game against a very good opponent. We were compact and didn't let Napoli get away comfortably throughout the game. You could see at all times that they were trying to get out. However, you could see how good they are in every situation individually and collectively. We did very well. Napoli and Liverpool qualified from Group A of the UEFA Champions League. In this final group-stage clash, the English side won with goals from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez.
However, in the last few hours it became known that in the duel between Liverpool and Barcelona a few years ago, Lionel Messi offended James Milner, something that has annoyed Klopp who will seek to cross with PSG in this Champions League to eliminate them: "I don't have beef with him. I caught him with a heavy challenge at the Camp Nou, he wasn't very happy. I gave him a tap and said 'are you okay' and he started shouting 'donkey' which means donkey," said Milner.
