Liverpool manager has sought a player with the same characteristics as the Dutchman

Liverpool are looking for a new midfielder for next season, a player who can bring balance to the midfield and one of the players that Jürgen Klopp likes the most is undoubtedly Sando Tonali, currently playing for AC Milan. The Italian midfielder is playing at an impressive level for the Rossoneri and, despite having just renewed his contract, he could be set to leave in exchange for a large sum of money.

According to the 'Express', the Anfield side are reportedly eyeing a move for one of their star players, Sandro Tonali. The Italian midfielder is one of the best players in Calcio and Klopp believes he would be the best possible player to fill the vacant box-to-box role that has been vacant in his squad for years. Since the departure of Wijnaldum, the English club have failed to find a player to provide stability in midfield and they believe the Italian could end this jinx.

It is worth noting that last month Sandro Tonali renewed with AC Milan until 2027 and the Rossoneri are not going to let him leave like anything else so Liverpool will have to pay a huge fee to get him out of the San Siro. The player is valued at over €50m, but the Lombardy side are expected to ask for at least €80m.

Sandro Tonali, in his third season at AC Milan and Italian champion with the Rossoneri last season, gave an interview to 'Icon'.
"The next objective is to confirm what we did last year, which is the most difficult thing: we all have to be focused inside our dream," revealed the Milan midfielder.

"Since I was a teenager, I realised that, despite my family and my lifelong friends at Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, I was alone in this world and I had to learn to manage on my own," continued the Class of 2000 alumnus. Tonali then recalled the turning point after last season's second leg derby: "After the second leg derby we realised that it was a different year, that we were there on our own merits and that we didn't have to waste any more games. When we got to that point, everything was easy.
