Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival at Al-Nassr changes things at Anfield

Until just a few days ago, the Liverpool manager was closely following Group H of the World Cup not only because of the participation of his Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, but also to see how Cristiano Ronaldo was performing with Portugal and how beneficial it was for the Reds to make a contract proposal to the international striker once the national teams' competition ended on 18 December, but now after it was announced that CR7 opted for a contract in Saudi Arabian football, things have changed for Klopp in an unexpected way.

After Jurgen Klopp learned of the interest and the exorbitant contract proposal made by Al-Nassr to Cristiano Ronaldo, the German coach knew immediately that the chances of being able to take him to Merseyside were reduced too much, because even though Liverpool is an institution that few players can afford to reject, they knew that the Portuguese star was already looking for other airs away not only from Manchester United but also from the Premier League itself.

If Bellingham is afraid to sign for Liverpool, this is Klopp's plan B

With the chances of matching the offer made by the Middle Eastern side being minimal, the Anfield scouts and Klopp himself have a somewhat complicated task in these remaining matches of the group stage, because while it is true that Nunez will be playing his qualification against his Ghanaian counterpart, the Reds coach will be attentive to his side's chances,  The Reds coach will be keeping an eye on Portugal vs South Korea, because although Cristiano Ronaldo is not the signing they are looking for, perhaps in these last 90 minutes before the knockout rounds there will be a player who can convince them to fight for him in the next transfer window.

Perhaps the Korean and Portuguese attackers are no longer the main attraction for Klopp and his people today, having to take a deeper look at the Luso midfield which is well dominated by Wolverhampton's Rúben Neves, a standout for the English club for a few seasons now and a good element in Qatar during the 3 group stage games.

The Liverpool manager must be forewarned of any such situation, and have an extensive list of possible midfield reinforcements on hand if Jude Bellingham's arrival cannot be finalised. The Portuguese midfielder will undoubtedly be Klopp's man to watch on the final day of the group stage, with the German finding several positives to highlight in this player, such as his aggressive football, his market price and his experience in English football since his arrival.
