Reds marvelled at British midfielder's high affectivity

Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on Chelsea gem Mason Mount for a number of weeks now, with the midfielder a serious option to bolster Anfield's midfield if the chances of bringing in Moises Caicedo or Jude Bellingham fall through, and after that fine display against Iran, Jurgen Klopp and his people will not hesitate to go for the England youngster once the World Cup is over.

The England international was too effective in the first 45 minutes against Iran, whether in attacking or defensive duties, the Chelsea midfielder got a near perfect score, being one of the biggest attractions of which Klopp has already taken note, leaving the German only waiting to see the other games and evaluate in general terms the performance of the young Briton.

The Merseyside side are in real trouble at the moment with regard to their possible reinforcements, for while Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo had a good display yesterday against Qatar, now the Three Lions' selection of Jude Bellingham with his goal and Mason Mount with his complete dominance of midfield complicate the decision to be made at Liverpool.

In terms of experience and security, the Borussia Dortmund gem is undoubtedly the most viable option for the Reds at the moment, although on price and knowledge of the Premier League, both Caicedo and Mason look more promising, with the Blues' man coming out on top due to his low cost and high performance, with the Anfield outfit having to fork out less than £6m.

Possibly the good performances of the Blues' British midfielder will push his price up a few million more, but even with that increase, the Reds could easily make an offer difficult to refuse, and Liverpool will have to be quick to send their proposal if they do not want to lose him with his contract renewal with Chelsea or one of the European clubs most interested in him.
