German coach Jürgen Klopp is against England manager Gareth Southgate for not giving Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has been highly questioned for his defensive conditions and is not an undisputed star for his national team, minutes.Trent Alexander-Arnold has been highly criticised in recent weeks for his defensive errors.

Liverpool's England full-back is at his lowest ebb in a long time, which is why he did not play for England in the last Nations League matchday, something that Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is not at all happy about.  The German told a press conference that his player is good enough to play for his national team despite "not defending well", as he has quality and also plenty of room for improvement given his young age.

Carragher's sizzling message that set social media alight

"Obviously I have a different opinion (on the England starting line-up), but Southgate is the manager. There's always news coming out and people are talking about him, whether he's a good defender or not. He's a good defender, even if he doesn't always defend well. That's true. But we're working on it, he's still young, he's 23. There is room for improvement.

Despite the debate surrounding the Liverpool defender in England, drama surrounds Gary Southgate's side as they were relegated from the Nations Legue. The England side were only able to take three points from a possible 18 and were relegated to Division B of the UEFA Nations League despite being one of the most talented teams at the moment.

Klopp comes out to defend TAA

Alexander-Arnold will return to the German's starting line-up and in the press conference beforehand, he came to the player's defence: "My honest opinion would create a lot of headlines. It's normal anyway; a coach chooses his team. I would have decided differently, obviously. I see Trent differently, that's for sure. People talk about him not being a good defender, that's not true, he's a good defender, he doesn't always defend well, that's true. He's 23 and we're working on it, but he's exceptional. England have been blessed with a player like him in that position."
