Liverpool confident of winter market reinforcements

Among the options that best suit Liverpool's needs in recent weeks, rumours are already beginning to circulate about a possible early termination of the deal for Arthur Melo, as the 26-year-old player does not yet seem to fit in with Jurgen Klopp's style of play, with both the Anfield institution and the German coach thinking of the winter transfer window as the solution to the problems that the team may face during those months.

According to information from the Italian newspaper, Tuttomercatoweb, the Juventus player has not been liked at Anfield, and the board have not hesitated to leave him out of the team for the month of January, as by then Liverpool will already have their new midfield reinforcements, or, by that time, the current players will have recovered their level to the point of not worrying about that sector of the pitch.

The recovery of Thiago Alcántara and a Harvey Elliott in continuous improvement, are proof that Melo would not have much place in a club that is gradually recovering its injured elements in that sector of the pitch, being the Brazilian relegated to the bench where he seeks to be that different player every time he has minutes. Obviously with the news, Juventus is the least happy with this situation, because in this loan they saw that second chance for Arthur to regain his level and return to Italy now as a starter of the Vecchia Signora.

Sending Arthur back to where he came from in January would seem to be a move without much sense from Liverpool, as from the time they were able to secure his transfer until today, the Brazilian international has been able to show little on the pitch with those few minutes he has, with just 15 more games left over until the winter transfer window. Given that Arthur has not played properly since the end of last season, it may actually take him most of that time to adapt, with the player in no rush but the clubs involved in his present.

Looking closely at the context of the games in which he has tried not only to show his quality but also to familiarise himself to the team, his low level and pace of play is more than understandable, having intense tests such as that tense Merseyside Derby, an unfortunate second game with the defeat at Napoli and the third was an incredibly tight, high-stakes game against Ajax. As Klopp and the coaching staff look to familiarise Arthur with his new club's style of play, these have been far from the ideal games to throw him into.
