In light of Liverpool's poor start to the Premier League season, the Reds have been informed of their prospects of losing manager Jurgen Klopp to Newcastle. The Reds, who are currently sixth in the standings and eight points back of Eddie Howe's team in third position, will look to improve following the World Cup break.

Although injuries have afflicted Klopp's team this season, the German's defensive problems have persisted in his eighth season in charge. The wheels started to fall off after seven years at his last club, Borussia Dortmund, and he departed the team after finishing seventh after years of success in the Bundesliga.

Although Klopp has been told that failing to qualify for the Champions League might result in the club's owners firing him, it is unclear whether he would then be enticed to come to St James' Park, With the Magpies in third position and having performed well in games against the conventional top six, Howe has shocked many despite the club's financial infusion as a result of their Saudi Arabian ownership.

The club's owners may still be tempted to replace the Englishman even if he signed a new long-term contract in August if a coach with Klopp's credentials becomes available. Alan Hutton, a former Tottenham defender, acknowledged that the German becoming Newcastle's manager was doubtful but did not completely rule it out.

Newcastle ball flawless

Hutton said to Football Insider, "I could not see it but you never know. Football is a peculiar sport. I've always maintained that it was going to be challenging as soon as Newcastle was taken over. However, it appears that they currently have the proper man in charge, are playing the right football, and that everything is going incredibly well.
