It has not been an easy season for Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara as he has suffered a number of injuries and his level has not been the same as in previous seasons, so Liverpool are already eyeing Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes as a transfer option if the injuries continue. They need a big man in midfield and the Newcastle player is a good option, although they would have to compete for him with Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Bruno Guimarães is one of the most in-form players in Europe. And he has already been linked with Liverpool. That is why the English team wants to keep him and is aware that its economic power may be insufficient against a team like Jürgen Klopp's that has enough resources to be able to sign the best players in the world.

Newcastle's plans for Bruno Guimarães remain very clear and will not change: the club wants to offer him a new long-term contract with improved wages, as reported last month. And it is not just Liverpool who have him on their books. Many top clubs are interested in signing Bruno in 2023, but Newcastle want to keep him at all costs.

And they have said so. Speaking to The Sun, the Magpies' sporting director Dan Ashworth admitted that he will do everything he can to ensure the player does not leave Newcastle even though he assumes they will have to sell him: "I absolutely don't want to sell Bruno. He is a top player and a very important part of our journey. But, at some point, you have to deal with things to do with Financial Fair Play. You can never control when a club (Real Madrid) or an opportunity comes up for a player who maybe has an aspiration that he always wanted to achieve. I can't lie and say we will never have to sell".

Liverpool have concrete interest in Bruno

Liverpool are reportedly ready to enter the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, with the Reds, along with Chelsea and Real Madrid, expressing "concrete interest".
