Things are going very well at Liverpool, and the job Jürgen Klopp is doing is undoubtedly fantastic, as the German tactician has shown he knows how to keep his team well organised, both on and off the pitch. As the team does not lose the direction Klopp wants the team to be on, keeping the players on a great physical and mental level.
This is reflected on the pitch when every player gets their chance to play, as they are always out to show their full potential, in order to become a more regular player. The Reds attack remains very competitive, as each player has had a great tournament where Mohamed Salah has a total of 12 goals for the Reds, Darwin Nunez has 7 goals, Diogo Jota has a total of 8 goals, Luis Diaz has 4 goals and Cody Gakpo has 4 goals, making it clear the high level of the Reds attack.
One of the strikers who has played well and who has not yet been able to polish all his virtues is the Dutchman Cody Gakpo, who arrived earlier this year from PSV Eindhoven, where in 159 games he scored 55 goals, which was enough for Jürgen Klopp to take notice of the Dutchman who so far has scored eleven goals in 41 games for the Reds.
Gakpo has direct competition with Darwin Nunez to be the main striker at Anfield, a place that so far is being filled by the Uruguayan who is going through a great level, however Klopp knows he has a great player in Gakpo, of whom he said in January about the Dutchman "Cody can press well, he can start to do what Roberto Firmino did for us for years as a striker'. I'm challenged to get out of my comfort zone - I like that!". Making it clear that Klopp likes Gakpo's style of play.
While the Dutchman has not been able to earn a starting role despite Jürgen Klopp starting the tournament by placing Gakpo ahead of Nunez in the first three games, however Cody's level has been overshadowed by Nunez throughout the tournament. Cody has been deployed in a number of different positions on the pitch making him an important player for Klopp who can use him as an excellent replacement in more complex games.
