Reds boss Klopp also confirmed that Ibrahima Konaté is suffering from a muscle injury. Liverpool's Dutch centre-back Virgil Van Dijk is set to return to training next week, with his sights set on the Champions League last-16 first leg against Real Madrid. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed at a press conference on Friday that the centre-back, who has been injured since early January, will return to training next week. "He is not ready (to play) yet, but he will be back in training next week," said Klopp, who has the Champions League first leg clash against Real Madrid on 21 February on the horizon.

Klopp said Roberto Firmino is close to a return, as is Diogo Jota, who has already been able to train with the squad but will not return to normal training until next week. Klopp also confirmed that Ibrahima Konaté is suffering from a muscle injury. Liverpool's Colombian attacker Luis Diaz has hit the ground running after suffering a knee injury in October.

Diaz, one of Liverpool's best players last season, has been out for three months and is not expected to be back until March, although Klopp gave positive news about his condition on Friday at a press conference. "Luis can run now. He still has a few weeks to go before he is ready, but he has been able to get out on the pitch and run, which is very good," the German confirmed. Prior to the injury, Diaz made 12 appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring four goals and assisting three.

Fabinho has to recover

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton, Jurgen Klopp said of Fabinho's fitness: "He knows he's not flying. He has to recover, that's the way it is. It's good that we have Stefan. At the moment he's not fitting in. He's not the happiest person with the situation. "The situation with Fabinho is one reason why it's so good that we have Stefan (Bajcetic)."
