After the start of the current season, uncertainty was high at Anfield as the team did not appear to have a competitive enough squad. The departures suffered after the transfer window left the team very limited in certain positions and the reinforcements were not enough to cover the number of departures, and all the reinforcements were in midfield, which was believed to weaken other positions.
Every player is giving his best in Anfeild and this makes the internal competition very strong, and yet the team is still very united which makes it a solid and strong team. However during this tournament injuries have meant that Jürgen Klopp has had to look for substitutes in all his lines, giving playing time to his entire team and to the youth players, who have benefited greatly.
The best youth player so far at Anfield is undoubtedly Scottish winger Ben Doak, who has earned the respect of Jürgen Klopp and his teammates since pre-season. Doak, 18, has had a number of opportunities this season, and he has had a good start, as in the first game against Chelsea he had 13 minutes of play, which undoubtedly gives confidence to the Scotsman.
His biggest involvement has been in the Europa League, where he started against LASK, which has seen Doak's price rise to very high levels, with the Anfield youngster now worth €10 million according to Transfermarkt, making him one of Liverpool's best youngsters with the most potential.
With Doak's current cost, he has reached the value of one of today's top legends Luka Modric, who at the age of 38 is currently worth €10 million, so Doak is already worth more, as if any team were to try to sign the Scottish youngster they would have to pay a large contract termination clause. Doak is the big promise at Anfield and Klopp will polish him up nicely.
