Liverpool will attempt to break their two-match losing streak in the Premier League when they take on Tottenham on Sunday afternoon. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been beaten by Nottingham Forest and Leeds United in their past two league matches and face a tricky task to turn things around.
The Reds come into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Napoli in the Champions League but face a Tottenham side who are riding high after a dramatic and crucial win over Marseille. Spurs have won twice as many league matches this season and sit in third place.
Nevertheless, Antonio Conte has paid tribute to his opposite number ahead of kick-off. Here Mirror Football brings you all the latest news about Liverpool ahead of the crucial match. Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was cleared by the FA of any wrongdoing last month following an allegation by Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The allegation stemmed from a fiery confrontation in the Gunners’ 3-2 win on October 9 and sparked a major investigation by the FA. Henderson has now spoken about what he went through for the first time.

“It is just as important to respect the process afterwards as it is during the case,” he told the Daily Mail. “I could speak to you all day about how I was feeling, but I have to accept what happened and move on. By the way, that wasn’t easy.
“There were a million and one things I wanted to say – emotional things – but I think it would have been wrong. It has not changed my mind that people must be empowered to come forward if they feel they have been wronged.”
Liverpool have made a terrible start to their Premier League campaign, but Tottenham boss Conte was in no mood to stick the boot in during his pre-match press conference. Conte believes that Klopp’s success at the Reds over the past seven years should serve as a blueprint for clubs like his.
He said: “What we know about Liverpool, (they are) one of the best teams in the world. They are having a bit of difficulty this season. I am surprised about this and that some people are trying to criticise Liverpool after what they have done in recent years.
“They have one of the best coaches in the world and fantastic players. At the same time, we have a lot of (injury) problems.” The World Cup is fast approaching, with Gareth Southgate due to name his final England squad next week.

The debate around Trent Alexander-Arnold and the national team has been ongoing for some time and the injuries to Kyle Walker and Reece James have only heightened them recently. Micah Richards may be a Manchester City fan, but he has nailed his colours to the mast by coming out in support of Alexander-Arnold.
“Trent is my favourite – I love him. Obviously, he has gone through a difficult patch at Liverpool but what he possesses going forward is ridiculous,” he told Mirror Football. “England don’t press like Liverpool. They drop off and get into shape, so that would really suit Trent.”
