There is no doubt that Liverpool's recent era has been one of the most successful in the club's history, as in recent years, under the command of Jürgen Klopp, the team has won every possible trophy at least once and has established itself as one of the best in the world. During this period we have had great players who have played a fundamental role in the team's success.
Great players have been established at Anfield as a result of those titles, and it is fair to say that all those who were a vital part of the club's success will always be in the hearts of Reds fans. However, every cycle has to come to an end and in recent seasons we have witnessed the farewells of great figures who have even become legends, but have left the club, such as Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool's last season was not at all what had been planned, as the team not only failed to win a single trophy, but also failed to achieve the minimum target of qualifying for the next edition of the Champions League, so it will be at least a year before they return to Europe's top club competition.
The failure of the previous season would have made both Jürgen Klopp and the board decide to carry out a reconstruction of the team, so it is expected that in addition to the players who have already left, there will be even more casualties this summer, and while that could sadden the fans, it is also true that it is a necessary generational replacement if we want to return again to the elite of world football.
After 8 years at the club, and after having won every single trophy possible with Liverpool, Joe Gomez could be very close to leaving the club this summer according to the Daily Mail. The 26-year-old central defender could leave the club to make room for a new reinforcement in the defensive line.
