Morocco have unexpectedly reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar and one of the great assets that have allowed the African team to make history in this tournament is Sofyan Amrabat, a player who has already caught the attention of Jürgen Klopp. The Fiorentina midfielder has become one of the tournament's best playmakers and, pending the match against France, it is safe to say that he has been responsible for unsettling stars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Pedri Gonzalez and Bruno Fernandes.

Belgium, Spain and Portugal have faced the Moroccan national team at different stages of the tournament and Amrabat has been the player in charge of thwarting the vast majority of rival attacks, so much so that in these matches none of the three stars mentioned could offer their best version.

All this has contributed to Klopp asking the Liverpool board to try to sign him in the upcoming winter transfer window in January. Amrabat currently plays for Fiorentina, but at 26 years of age - and after his good work at the World Cup in Qatar - he knows that he is at the perfect time to make the definitive leap in his career, a leap that could be made official with a move to Anfield.

Klopp's sudden interest in reinforcing his squad with the Moroccan player is conditioned by several factors: on the one hand, the price of the midfielder, who has a contract until 2024 with the Italian side, will be much more affordable (around 15 million) than that of the German's other targets in the market.

In addition, there are several midfielders in the Liverpool squad who are not offering the expected level and could also change club in January, this being the case of Naby Keïta, Oxlade Chamberlain or Curtis Jones. For the moment, the player is focused on trying to beat Les Bleus and reach the final... and much will depend on how efficient Amrabat is at stopping the onslaught of Mbappé, Giroud, Dembélé and Griezmann.
