Liverpool's top priority for the upcoming transfer window is to strengthen the midfield, something that has been known since the end of the season. However, until now, Jürgen Klopp had shown no interest in making a move involving a world star, as he had focused on young players with future projection.
But now, it seems that Klopp has his sights set on one of the most promising players in world football and it is even said that the Anfield board would be willing to pay around 100 million euros to get him.
Liverpool's initial plan has already been set in motion with the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister, who has become the Reds' first reinforcement for the upcoming campaign. The World Cup winner with Argentina in Qatar 2022 would be just the first of a long list of reinforcements that are in Klopp's sights, and although most of them do not cost more than 70 or 80 million, Liverpool would be willing to pay a higher amount if it were a great figure.
We are talking about Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, for whom Liverpool have shown interest in recent days. Valverde would be a fundamental element in Klopp's scheme, as he considers him one of the best in the world in his position, however he knows that it would not be easy to take him away from the Spanish capital, especially taking into account that our team will not play Champions League next season.
According to several reports, the Liverpool board has already contacted Real Madrid to inquire about the availability of Federico Valverde. There are even those who claim that Liverpool has already put an offer on the table, and although the amount of that offer has not been disclosed, it is speculated that it could be close to 100 million euros, value that the Transfermarkt portal has appraised the Uruguayan player.
