Had the talent to become one of the best players in the world

A few years ago, before Liverpool won the 2019 Champions League title that started the last golden era of our club, we had among our ranks one of the most talented players that has stepped on Anfield in modern times and who excited all the fans to be the one to lead the team to conquer important trophies.

We are talking about Philippe Coutinho, the Brazilian who, for several years, enchanted all the Anfield fans with his great qualities and enormous talent. Coutinho quickly became one of the public's favorite players, since at his young age he had shown he had the necessary talent to become the next great star of world football, as there were even those who claimed he could have competed with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the title of the best player in the world at some point.

However, in 2018, Philippe Coutinho decided to betray Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool by requesting a transfer to FC Barcelona, the team that dominated Europe at the time. Despite Klopp's insistence for him to stay, Coutinho decided to leave Anfield at the peak of his career, as even the Transfermarkt portal valued him at €150 million and he was sold to Barça for €135 million.

However, the regret came early as in the same season in which he left, Liverpool won the Champions League and the following year we ended a 30-year drought without winning the Premier League, while Coutiho was never able to consolidate or show the level he had at Anfield ever again. He went through several teams until he finally returned to English football with Aston Villa, the team he currently plays for.

Nobody wants to know about Coutinho

Although he has a contract with Aston Villa until 2026, it seems that the club no longer wants him and would be looking for a way out. The problem is that there seems to be no one interested in Philippe Coutinho, who has suffered a huge devaluation as he is now only worth around €10 million. For now his future is uncertain, and if he stays at Aston Villa he will have to improve his performance a lot if he wants to keep playing minutes.
