While Manchester City's Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has been on a bit of a negative run in front of goal, Merseyside's Mohamed Salah is increasingly returning to the incredible form that has wowed the Premier League, with the Egyptian's more subdued performances just a couple of attacking interventions away from overtaking the Android as the player with the highest goal contribution in 2023.

The Egyptian's desire to be the new leader in this category could become a reality during the 90 minutes against Brighton, who will be an uncomfortable opponent but not difficult enough to stop Mo''s intentions, and the Egyptian must trust in the work of his teammates in attack to be able to beat Haaland's record before FIFA. Salah's stats against Brighton favour the Reds striker in this most goalscoring statistic and he is in close contention with Haaland, as the Pharaoh's last twelve appearances against Brighton have seen him score a total of twelve times, a tally that could extend to thirteen or more on Sunday.

While Salah has a positive run against Brighton that may allow him to be the best player in the back four this year, Erling Haaland and Manchester City will have a tough task when they visit the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal, with the Gunners another opponent who can stop the Norwegian striker's numbers from growing out of all proportion.

Salah is England's best

Despite Haaland being a revelation last season and breaking several records set by other players and Salah, the Citizens' player still doesn't have the level or consistency to be considered the best in the Premier League, with that title belonging to a man like Mohamed Salah who remains among the toughest marks in the English competition.
