Luis Fabiano's harsh words towards Haaland. The former striker, who has been retired for a couple of years, gave an interview to the channel 'Benja Me Mucho' in which he gave a surprising and forceful answer when questioned about Manchester City's Norwegian striker. The goalscoring figures of Haaland, to whom many, virtually all, swear by his effectiveness, are spectacular. However, Luis Fabiano, who played for Sevilla among others, believes that if he had played for a team like the Citizens, he would have smashed them.

"He would have broken all the records in Haaland. With that team, with the opportunities he has.... I would have broken his record," said the Brazilian. The interviewer, surprised by the answer, reminded him that Haaland had scored three hat-tricks in three consecutive home games, but Luis Fabiano replied: "Thanks to the team-mates". And to back up his assertions, he says: "He has 30 chances and he scores three goals. If I had 30 chances, I would score between 10 and 20. That's the difference.

Luis Suarez returned to the Uruguay national team after an 11-month absence and four games in which coach Marcelo Bielsa did not count him in. On Tuesday he played almost 20 minutes in the 3-0 win over Bolivia, and he had already been on the bench in Buenos Aires when Uruguay beat Argentina 2-0, although he did not have minutes. Uruguay beat Bolivia 3 - 0 with a brace from Darwin Nunez and the return of Luis Suarez. "It was something very nice, very exciting, after the World Cup I didn't expect it, I said I didn't know what I was going to do in the national team, because of the performance. I said I didn't know what I was going to do in the national team, because of my performance. Then I started to feel good, in a great way, without anyone giving me anything for free, and Bielsa called me up," Suarez said at a press conference, adding: "I feel happy with this role in the national team.

Nunez is better than Haaland

Uruguay's all-time leading scorer noted that he is "the first Uruguayan to play in five qualifiers". Asked about Darwin Núñez's current form (he has scored five goals in a row for the national team), he replied: "You have to accept it. Accept that today I have one of the best strikers in the world ahead of me in the national team. We have to stand up and applaud. What he did at the Bombonera and today was admirable.
