Reds continued to play well overall without making any major adjustments

The second and final friendly Liverpool played in Dubai ended in a 4-1 victory over AC Milan, with goals from Mohamed Salah, Thiago Alcântara, and Darwin Nunez (twice), between the first two goals, Belgian forwards Alexis Saelemaekers equalised, and the Reds continued to play well overall without making any major adjustments until the hour mark.

Nunez made his comeback to play at that point, and Thiago was taken off after finishing his duties. Naby Keta, Fábio Carvalho, Melkamu Frauendorf, Adrián, and Kostas Tsimikas also played for 30 minutes. Later on, Bobby Clark provided an incredible assist to seal the victory, and Ben Doak struck the post and set up Nez for a second.

Harvey Elliott and Thiago Alcântara were both pretty well up the field. If Elliott hadn't been hurt in the first half, Thiago's performance against the Ligue 1 team may have been more obvious, but it was still plain to notice in this instance, second, the positioning of both Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who were both operating on the flanks, was extremely fluid.

When making forwards moves, neither player stayed on the sidelines, with Elliott in particular being able to fill that role when Salah pushed inside, Liverpool was quite high up the field and the high press was back. Even number six Stefan Bajetti was seen much farther up the field than he typically would be as long as the players may return when necessary,

Qatar for the World Cup

This is not a bad thing, they accomplished that here, but they haven't done it all season, Jol Matip has returned and Jol Matip got the chance to remind everyone of his own skills while Ibrahima Konaté was still in Qatar for the World Cup, and he did so quickly here, He assisted Salah to start the scoring on one of his customary forays upfront, demonstrating his distinct advantage over Konaté.
