The Uruguayan has been linked with a move to Anfield as Klopp looks to add depth to his midfield options, but the 24-year-old insists he is happy at the Santiago Bernabeu. But Federico Valverde hasn't refused to rule out the possibility of him one day joining Liverpool. And so far he is happy at Real Madrid for the time being.

The Uruguayan has been linked with a move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp faces a rough patch in the season. Federico Valverde has shown his versatility in Real Madrid as he has been put on the right-back, central midfield, and right wing. He joined the Spanish giants in 2016 from Uruguayan club Peñarol and has since gone on to establish himself as a key player for the team.

And recently Valverde has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, with a recent comparison to Reds legend Steven Gerrard. This has to turn into a call for attention to Valverde so he could think he would be a perfect signing for the club. And recently in an interview, Valverde was asked about Gerrard's comparison and he said that he was flattered by the compliment but that he was happy at Real Madrid.

Valverde told the Spanish media the following: “It is spectacular that you are compared to such a player, to a star, a world idol, not just from Liverpool. It's spectacular. I also want to leave my name and my mark in the world of football, not only in Madrid but also on the national team. I want to be recognized in many places in the world for the way I play".

The bid for him rejected

During the summer transfer market, the Red made a €100 million (£86 million) bid for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde due to the bad results, and Klopp wanted to get new blood in the midfield since Naby Keita has had serious trouble with and hamstring injury, leaving a week spot in the English squad.
