Although the Reds' midfield reinforcements are producing positive results this pre-season, manager Jurgen Klopp knows that even with the signing of Romeo Lavia there are some problems in other areas of the pitch that will not go away, and the German tactician has set his sights on a player from the Netherlands who could be the main replacement for one of his players who could soon say goodbye to the club.

Given the sudden sales of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho Tavares to Saudi Arabia, Klopp does not want to have another surprise and see one of his players leave overnight, foreseeing himself with early searches for players who could be seduced by another team as well as by those who do not intend to renew their contract once it expires next summer.

Perhaps the wisest decision for Liverpool at the moment would be to sell all those players whose contracts expire in 2024, with the winter being the only opportunity to do so, but just as Matip could leave for around 15 million euros, Klopp and the board could try to bring in his replacement, Perr Schuurs, who is playing for Torino F.C. in the Italian league.

Klopp to gain experience and youth with Schuurs

After that great season at Torino, the Dutch defender is shaping up to be one of the team's next targets, and having been trained in the Netherlands and under the teaching of Ajax, the Reds would be willing to pay the 30 million they are asking for his letter, knowing that the arrival of a player of his characteristics will bring to the group that youth and experience in defence that today is concentrated only in his starting quartet.
