Although the most logical thing for Jurgen Klopp and his people would be to release as soon as possible all those players who have suffered a considerable drop in level during this season, the reality is that such an intensive and unmeasured clean-up could also be detrimental, because beyond the fact that these elements today do not contribute what is necessary to get out of this negative streak, their quality could soon return and thus be able to make the difference that has been expected of them so much.

As happened a few months ago with Mohamed Salah and his lack of effectiveness in the last area of the pitch, on this occasion the next to be affected by the bad streak has been midfielder Fabhino Tavares, who after a considerable drop in level had to be partially replaced by the 18 year old Spaniard, Stefan Bajcetic, with the Brazilian now spending a lot of time on the bench being used mainly by the German tactician in the second half.

It is true that the desperation to have a functional team can lead Klopp to think that those who today do not contribute much to the institution should be sold or loaned to another team, but in the specific case of a man as experienced as Fabinho, the thing changes completely, because this player at 29 years of age still has much to offer to a Liverpool that needs him as a master of those who will come to revolutionise the Reds' midfield in the coming years.

Klopp must think beyond the present

If the Reds manage to build a competitive midfield with reinforcements like Jude Bellingham or N'Golo Kante, it is obvious that the services on the pitch of men like Fabinho will no longer be necessary, his departure meaning a financial gain that would not be bad for the institution, although his permanence could provide that experience that helps the new gems to grow, both options being a doubt that Klopp must resolve as the games go by and as the Brazilian midfielder performs.
