Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo said on Tuesday (03.01.2023) during his presentation as Al-Nassr's new player that his contract with the Saudi club is "unique" as he is a "unique player". "I am a unique player. I have broken all the records in Europe and I want to break them here as well. This contract is unique because I am a unique player, so it's normal," he said when asked what he thought of the criticism he received on joining the team based in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh.

Before stepping onto the turf at his new home until 2025, Mrsool Park, Cristiano answered a few questions in an appearance alongside Al-Nassr coach Rudi Garcia and the club's board chairman Mussali al Muammar. "I feel very good and proud of this decision in my life (...) My work in Europe is done, I won everything," said the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who will wear the number 7 shirt at the club.
"I'm not worried about what people say. I am very happy to be here," he said, and reminded that "this is not the end" for him, as the Saudi league is "very competitive" and "people don't know that. I have had offers from Brazil, Portugal, America, Australia. But I gave my word to Al-Nassr," he revealed during the presentation, without giving further details.
While Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled in Saudi Arabia, Liverpool received some of the best news of 2023 as star signing Cody Gakpo is officially a Liverpool player after the formalities of his transfer from PSV Eindhoven were successfully concluded on Tuesday. He could make his debut this Saturday against Wolverhampton in the FA Cup.
