After not being active this weekend in the Premier League, Liverpool broke ranks and their international stars reported to their national teams ahead of the next FIFA World Cup in September. One of them is the Uruguayan Darwin Núñez, who lit up the networks with a picture with Facundo Pellistri, an element of Manchester United.
The photo posted on 18 September from Facu Pellistri's personal Twitter account (@FPellistri07) caught the attention of Liverpool fans, who were divided over the gesture. Within the striker's timeline one can see tweets in support and others against, as the biggest rivalry on the Island is between the Devils and the Reds.

Liverpool and Manchester United's tough fight ahead
This same image was taken and published by the official account of the Uruguayan National Team (@Uruguay), who showed off their two promising youngsters, from the youth academy of Uruguay's Peñarol, who are likely to line up in the matches against Iran and Canada on 23 and 27 September respectively. The first game will take place in Austria, before moving on to Slovakia to close the pre-World Cup Qatar 2022 activity.
It is worth mentioning that Liverpool and Mancherster United met last August, where the scales tipped in favour of the Red Devils, who beat Liverpool two goals to one at Old Trafford, within the matchday 3 of the Premier League 2022-2023. Darwin Núñez missed the match due to a three-game suspension, following his sending off and suspension from the game against Crystal Palace.
The former player of Peñarol of Uruguay, Almeria of Spain and Benfica of Portugal travelled this weekend to Vienna, Austria to be placed at the orders of the national coach Diego Alonso, who called 26 elements of both the Uruguayan League and international, where the names stand out: Luis Suárez, Federico Valverde, Ronald Araújo and Liverpool star Darwin Núñez.
