Darwin Nunez shone for Liverpool in the Community Shield with a goal and set up Mohamed Salah's penalty.

The most feared duo in the Premier League looks set to be Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez. Both have already tasted championship glory with Liverpool, the latter recently doing so in the Community Shield against Pep Guardiola's Manchester United at Leicester's King Power Stadium.

Although German manager Jurgen Klopp does not appear to have them both on the pitch at the same time at the moment, they could well make their debut as a pairing against Fulham in Saturday night's Premiership opener. We'll see what the Teuton decides in the end, but what is clear is that both are on fire in front of goal.

Núñez starred for Liverpool in their first title of the season, the Community Shield against Manchester City. He came on with half an hour to go when the game was tied and created the penalty for 2-1 and in stoppage time scored the final 3-1. The Reds won their 16th cup in this competition.

Even Fabinho praised the Uruguayan striker and pointed out that he is a similar case to Luis Diaz, a player they signed in the winter transfer window and who since his debut started to perform with goals (4), assists (5) and good performances.

After Sunday's title, both Liverpool players are ready for the start of the Premier League. It will be away to Fulham in London. The competition starts on Friday with Crystal Palace's game against Arsenal.
