Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn described Jude Bellingham as "an excellent player" when addressing reports of a possible move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder. The England international has been tipped as one of the game's most promising talents since his displays for the Black and Yellows and has now emerged as one of the standout performers following Erling Haaland's departure to Manchester City.
The 19-year-old Stourbridge native has also been linked with a move to his homeland, where he played in the 2019/20 campaign for Birmingham City in the second tier before moving to Germany, but BVB are hopeful he will remain in the squad.
He turned his back on England and now Liverpool want to sign this player
A Liverpool player has accepted that he does not understand Jürgen Klopp's instructions
"Of course, I think Bellingham is an excellent player," the former goalkeeper confessed to Sport Bild when asked if there was any interest in the young player who was handed the captaincy in the last Bundesliga game.
Kahn clarified: "But we have Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Ryan Gravenberch, Marcel Sabitzer.... I can say we are well covered in that position. We are not worried about that at all."
Bellingham is expected to start in Gareth Southgate's Three Lions side at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, having been an important part of their runners-up finish at EURO 2020, reaffirming that this is not a future gamble, but already a reality.
