Philippe Coutinho continues to recover from his thigh injury. He's looking to get back in shape for Unai Emery. In the meantime, he wrote on his social networks to clarify some of the issues that are coming up that he doesn't quite like.
The former Barça player took to Instagram: "In the last few days I've seen a lot of news with my name on it and so far so good, the problem is that some lies have started and I'm here to clear them up. NEVER and at no time has there been any kind of conversation from me asking to leave the club, because I'm happy here and my family too".
He added: "My only objective now that I am recovered from the injury is to work at my best every day, to play at the highest level and to help the club and my team-mates to achieve our objectives". Therefore, the player is only thinking about getting back into the new dynamic.
Steven Gerrard's departure as Aston Villa manager had put Philippe Coutinho in an uncomfortable place at the English club. The Brazilian had been an express request of the historic former England midfielder, with whom he had shared a team at Liverpool. Given the poor performances at Barcelona, the move was made, but with Gerrard's departure, doubts were raised. Many feared that the Villans' new coach, Spain's Unai Emery, would not find room for Coutinho, and talk of his departure began.
Among the rumours swirling around the Brazilian, it was even mentioned in the local media that Cou could return to Liverpool. However, that possibility is impossible for now as he is under contract with the Villains. Besides, he has no place in Jurgen Klopp's team, especially after the signing of Cody Gakpo.
