Over the last couple of days it has emerged that Fluminense's 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andre Trindade has entered strongly on the target list of Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board to reinforce Liverpool's midfield this summer.

Liverpool's interest in André is not new, as his name emerged a couple of weeks ago among a long list of potential candidates to be sounded out by the club. However, the possibility of him being the Reds' third signing of the summer intensified after the Anfield board launched their third offer to Southampton to sign Romeo Lavia and, fearing that the Saints would reject it for not being £50 million, which is the minimum amount they are asking for Lavia, they have decided to go for André as he would be a much more affordable target in financial terms.

However, although André's price would be much lower than Lavia's and it has even been reported that super agent Jorge Mendes could intervene to help the player get to Liverpool more easily, there is still a hurdle to overcome before a possible arrival at Anfield could happen and that would be convincing Fluminense to sell one of their best players in the middle of a crucial moment in the Brazilian club's season.

The impediment to signing André

According to several sources, Fluminense is willing to sell André, but not until the winter transfer window. This is because the Brazilian club is currently playing in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, the most prestigious club tournament in South America. Should they manage to advance in the round of 16, André's signing by Liverpool could become complicated, as the Brazilian midfielder is a very important player for the club, which would try to keep him as long as possible if they continue to advance in the tournament.
