The action from Qatar has all 32 teams having to show their best, one mistake could complicate their passage to the next round and leave them in the Group Stage. One of the most hotly contested and talked-about sections so far is B, where England, Iran, Welsh and the United States are all fighting for a ticket, with the latter team returning to the global showpiece after an eight-year absence.

The Reds have set their sights on a squad of US youth stars who are fighting for a historic place in the next round, and it is here that Chelsea FC asset Christian Pulisic could be a key to the squad renewal desired by coach Jürgen Klopp, who has also been monitoring England's Jude Bellingham in this group.

Klopp already knows price of new Luis Diaz, would be much cheaper than Firmino

Pulisic was formed in Germany within the Borussia Dortmund youth academy, which since 2015 led his process as a professional until he made his debut in the first team of the Bundesliga two years later. Curiously, in 2019 the German team managed to sell him to Chelsea of the Premier League, where they got a loan of the player to continue with minutes, and thus return to England.

With two consecutive starts and being the top American representative of the USA, Pulisic has the spotlight on the Red's who he has already faced. Klopp has spoken highly of him, saying he has character and a good game. For the 24-year-old, this World Cup is personal revenge, as he was part of the previous squad that failed in the qualifiers for Russia 2018.

Pulisic is of interest to Liverpool

Klopp knows he has to cover his own back and in the event of failing to sign England gem Jude Bellingham, Pulisic could be a very good alternative, with reports from London revealing that the Blue's could let him go as long as they manage to pay the 33 million they are asking for him at Stamford Bridge. Pulisic is under contract until 2024, so negotiations for the midfielder will not be easy for Premier League rivals Liverpool.
