When it seemed that our Liverpool was going to carry out the hijack of the summer by offering a record transfer figure to sign Chelsea's coveted target Moises Caicedo, the player's entourage stopped the transfer as apparently the main intention of the Ecuadorian defensive midfielder is to arrive at Stamford Bridge, although various reports claim that if it is the case Caicedo would not be closed to play for the Reds.

A couple of days ago, Liverpool offered £110 million to Brighton to sign Moises Caicedo, an offer that was accepted by the board of the Gulls who had made it clear that they would sell the South American jewel to the highest bidder, which turned out to be our club. However, with the turn of events Brighton are now waiting for a counter offer that at least matches Chelsea's offer to the Reds, something that so far has not happened.

In the last few hours it was reported that the London board had offered a package that included some players as a bargaining chip, which Brighton reportedly rejected. However, some journalists have reported that Chelsea is prepared to offer £115 million to sign Caicedo and, if they do so, Brighton would inform Liverpool so that the Reds can decide whether to match the alleged offer or increase it.

This would be Liverpool's response

According to various sources, should Chelsea indeed offer £115 million to sign Caicedo, they would opt to withdraw from the race for the Ecuadorian to focus on other targets such as Romeo Lavia and another defender. However, it is not yet certain that Chelsea will offer that amount and that is why, for now, Liverpool have not withdrawn their offer.
