In the run-up to this weekend's Liverpool game, Liverpool's legend Jaime Carragher has been talking about the current state of affairs in the Premier League, with the Reds in seventh place on 28 points, very close to chasing Brighton & Hove Albion, curiously enough their opponents on matchday 20 of the 22/23 season.
For Carragher, contributor to SKY Sports, what Liverpool is going through has a name and it is called Jürgen Klopp, the German is having his worst season since he has the team away from the places of privilege, and even in a streak where it could lose everything. A few days ago Liverpool were knocked out of the EFL Cup at the hands of the Sky's Blue's at Etihad, and almost added another failure when they drew at home against Wolverhampton in the FA Cup, where they are current champions.

Things are not looking good for them, as next month they will face European champions Real VARdrid, who have been favourites to advance since the draw was made. Turning to the Premier League, it is the first time in years that The Pool are not in the title race, let alone assured of competing in the UEFA Champions League next year.
Alongside this statement, Carragher agreed with his television colleague Gary Neville that Alisson Becker was the best player for his ideal starting XI for 2023, the Brazilian being the best in his position and Liverpool's only player, in a snub to the career and talent of Mohamed Salah, who was overlooked in this exercise. The Pharaoh, despite not playing at the World Cup in Qatar, has carried Klopp's goalscoring quota.
For Reds fans, Carragher's words have not gone down well, as they believe that the Pharaoh has a lot of talent and is better than others who were nominated, such as Erling Haaland or Kevin de Bruyne, who comes from a terrible World Cup, where his words fractured a national team and drove out Roberto Martinez, who soon found a job and joined Cristiano Ronaldo's national team.
