A promising youngster with a chance to shine

It seems that Jurgen Klopp was able to find some interesting young prospects within his youth squad who could get their chance to play under the German tactician during the 2023-2024 football year, with centre-back Ben Doak likely to get minutes in the matchday 1 clash against Chelsea on Sunday 13 August.

The 17-year-old Reds youngster has already caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp, who decided to give him more than one opportunity during this preparation tour, with the Scotsman getting good results that could lead him to his Premier League debut in the coming days, requiring an arrangement of four midfielders to allow him freedom as a right winger, with the youngster trying his luck replacing the star of the team, Mohamed Salah, against Bayern Munich and now against Darmstadt.

The opportunity that this young Scot could have has been generated around the fleeting interest of reinforcements in midfield and in the face of a negotiation with Romeo Lavia and Southampton, trying Klopp to have in any way a backup either offensive or defensive midfielder that fulfils the function of being a natural replacement for one of his players planned to start the Premiership matches.

Klopp to nurture new prospect

With plenty of experience with the U-18 team, good field visibility and explosive pace that helps him get to the back line without difficulty, Ben knows that he can fit in with the proactive style of play that Klopp is used to at times, and the Reds have a youngster who, if he can be brought through with calm and patience in this campaign, could be given the minutes to establish him as another option within the German coach's squad.
