Luis Diaz scored a stunning goal, but it was Darwin Nunez's dismissal that stole the limelight.

Darwin Nunez arrived at Liverpool as one of the most expensive reinforcements in the transfer market across Europe, after a couple of good performances, last Monday he took several steps back in that quest to consolidate himself in Jurgen Klopp's team. Liverpool and Crystal Palace played out a Premier League Round 2 draw on Aug. 15. Luis Díaz scored a goal, but it was Darwin Nuñez's dismissal that stole the spotlight.

The Uruguayan striker did not resist the numerous provocations of defender Joachim Andersen and gave him a headbutt that will keep him out of the Premier League for three games. An aggression like this will never be justified, but it is worth noting that it was after at least 8 provocations from the defender.

The apology

Nunez has already apologised to the Liverpool fans: "I am aware of the ugly attitude I had. I'm here to learn from my mistakes and it won't happen again," while Andersen received hundreds of threats on social media. Despite the above, many Liverpool fans felt the Uruguayan's reaction was provoked by the Danish defender's attitude.

Joachim Andersen was pushing, hugging and insulting Darwin almost the entire game, for which he received threats from some Reds fans, a situation he exposed in his social networks that he received hundreds of messages with threats towards him and his family. "I received between 300 and 400 such messages last night. I understand that you support a team, but have some respect and stop acting like this," he revealed in his publications.
