Matchday 9 of the Premier League will see a debut in the Brighton & Hove Albion dugout as the club recently confirmed Italian Roberto de Zerbi as their new manager, with the first game against German manager Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool on Saturday 1 October when they meet at Anfield in what will be a return to action for the Reds.
"I am delighted that Roberto has agreed to become our new head coach. Roberto's teams play an exciting and brave style of football and I am confident that his style and tactical approach will suit our current squad superbly and that we will debut with a great league result against Liverpool," said chairman Tony Bloom of the East Anglian club.

After the FIFA break in September, the Reds return to Anfield to face the Seagulls, who have made a great start to the season, finishing in fourth place with 13 points, four more than Liverpool. This start has seen their former manager Graham Potter leave for Chelsea following the departure of Tomas Tuchel.
On the other hand, the Italian coach comes from managing Shakhtar Donetsk, a club that qualified for the UEFA Champions League, after winning the league in Ukraine, which had to be suspended due to war issues. Before the 'Orange Club', he managed Sassuolo in Italy. But his style of management has attracted attention in various parts of the world, so the Seagulls took the risk of hiring him to replace Graham Potter who left for Chelsea.
The match between Liverpool and Brighton will take place next Saturday 1 October at Anfield where the Reds will try to climb the table. The last time they were sick at Anfield, the score was tied at two goals (30 October 2021), a match where Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mané scored, the latter is no longer in the team and is one of the most missed in the squad.
