Brazilian players have been among the worst victims of racist gestures in football. Just as it happened to Vinicius Jr just a few weeks ago, prompting Pele and other world stars to come out in support of him, now it was Richarlison who found himself the target of a repudiatory action by a fan while celebrating a goal for Brazil against Tunisia at Parc des Princes, the home of PSG.

Tite's side played two matches in the recent friendly window. First against Ghana, against whom they were 3-0 winners, and now against Tunisia with a solid 5-1 win, including a goal from Neymar's penalty. In the big win, the Tottenham striker's goal to make it 2-1 was marked by an unfortunate incident.

It was 19 minutes into the first half when Richarlison scored Brazil's second goal to take the lead. The striker threw himself to the ground to celebrate and some flying objects could quickly be seen falling from the stands. The Brazilian players gathered near the corner kick line, but as they were retreating only the former Everton man was left to beat his chest as he looked up at the stands. And that's when a fan threw a banana at him.

This type of attitude is common in different parts of the world, and Brazilians are the ones who suffer the most from this kind of thing. From Dani Alves to Neymar, many stars have suffered discrimination in a stadium. It is worth remembering that the President of the Spanish Association of Footballers' Agents made an unfortunate comment with racist overtones in his intervention in the programme El Chiringuito.

They saw racist acts against their peers

"If you want to dance samba, you go to the sambadrome, here what you have to do is respect your fellow professionals and stop monkeying around", said the agent. The comment quickly went viral as he compared Vinicius to a macaque and Bravo, hours later, tried to defuse the controversy with an apology on his Twitter account.
