Again, while Liverpool has suffered sanctions, new favour to Manchester City

The FA has accused Manchester City of failing to "control their players at the end of the match against Tottenham Hotspur" and could face sanctions. City have until 7 December to respond to the charge and if found guilty will face a financial penalty.

The incidents broke out in stoppage time, with the score at 3-3. City had a counter attack and Erling Haaland was fouled in midfield. Simon Hooper, the match referee, gave the advantage, Haaland got up and set up Jack Grealish who left him alone against the goalkeeper. However, Hooper rectified and blew for a foul, drawing the ire of City fans, especially Haaland, who also responded with disbelief on social media to the video of the goal.

Despite the ruling, the Premier League has deemed it a human error and will keep Hooper on for Sheffield United's clash with Liverpool on Wednesday. According to the rules, it is at the referee's discretion whether to whistle for advantage or not, so technically Hooper did not make a mistake, although, according to former Premiership referee Dermot Gallagher, he made the wrong decision.

<strong>No punishment for Haaland</strong>

While Liverpool have received several sanctions lately such as financial penalties for Virgil Van Dijk for offending referees or punishments for Alexis Mac Allister, as reported by Daily Mirror, Erling Haaland will not receive a sanction for his offences against Hopper in a clear favour to Manchester City.
