Between a thousand and one problems that FSG has caused over the years with Liverpool and especially in recent months regarding the sale of the team, the Fenway Sports Group wants to redeem their bad deeds by showing interest in trying to get the team out of the rut they are in, showing their support for Jurgen Klopp in whom they see the solution to all these bad patches harvested in more than half a season.
More specifically, the statement released by the Football Insider account states that FSG will maintain their support for the German coach no matter how the final stretch of the campaign unfolds, and there is no doubt among the owners that Klopp is the key to Liverpool's continued success in the years to come, with the bosses somehow assuming their mistake in mentioning that there must be a rebuilding of the team, just as the coach asked for some time ago.
As Guardiola leaves Manchester City for cheating, Klopp's decision on his contract at Liverpool
These are the titles Liverpool should get after sanctioning Manchester City for cheating
As long as there is no one to sell the Merseyside outfit to, FSG seems to once again want to have some interest in what is still their team in England, leaving fans in immense doubt as to whether or not they should believe the words of an organisation that not so long ago insisted it did not want to be associated with football, with that stance largely responsible for a poor season for the Reds who only cling to the Champions League as the only achievement of the current footballing year.
Although it is reassuring for Klopp to know that even with the poor results his job as Liverpool manager is not on the line, he has no doubt that his stay is more for his actions than for a gesture of support from the board, with the German hoping for that support not in verbal but in material terms, as having the chequebook open and with the possibility of bringing in senior reinforcements, the manager will surely be able to regain those top positions and be a candidate to win all the titles in the 2023-2024 campaign.
