Liverpool superstar scores brace in national team win

The activity for Liverpool FC players in this September's FIFA World Cup in September continues to leave good numbers, as is the case of Mohamed Salah who played an important role in Egypt's victory over Niger at the Borg El Arab stadium in a friendly match prior to the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where unfortunately both teams will not participate.

Mo Salah was on a roll after his last game with Liverpool FC where he scored in the win against Ajax Amsterdam in the second day of Group A of the UEFA Champions League 2022-2023, this gave the Egyptian captain the confidence to continue scoring goals in the season, where he currently has eight, adding all competitions, from friendlies to national team.

Egypt's number 10 started the match, getting on the scoreboard in the 43rd minute, before giving way to his FC Nantes teammate Mostafa Mohamed to score the second goal in the 55th minute. It was Mohamed Salah himself who closed the scoreboard in the 67th minute to make it 3-0 over Niger, who suffered their third defeat in their last five matches.

Mo Salah, who played all 90 minutes, returned to represent his country after the 1-0 win over Guinea in June this year, in what was a Group D Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, where his side are currently level on three points with Ethiopia, Malawi and, of course, Guinea. The Anfield star's absence for Egypt led him to miss the matches against Ethiopia and South Korea, where the Pharaohs lost.

The match against Niger was the first of two matches that the Pharaohs will play on this FIFA Day. Egypt will return to the Borg El Arab stadium on Tuesday 27 September to face Liberia, another team from the African continent, which curiously will face Niger, in a match to be held on Sunday 25 September at the Cairo International Stadium, in this triangular match where Egypt is hosting.
