Three goals in his last five games show the good moment Luis Diaz is going through. His great performances since he arrived in January from Porto have allowed him to become one of the most important players for Jurgen Klopp, establishing himself in the starting eleven for this season as a replacement for Senegalese Sadio Mané.

The Colombian completed 35 games for the Reds, in which he has managed to score 10 goals and provide five assists, numbers that demonstrate his good adaptation at the club, in which the Brazilian Roberto Firmino has influenced in a big way, being important thanks to his leadership within the team.

Firmino's role has changed within the club, guiding the club's new signings, especially Latin Americans such as Colombian Luis Díaz and Uruguayan Darwin Núñez. With those he stepped up to help them grasp the idea of what is wanted in the team. "Pep Lijnders and Vitor Matos are known to communicate with Diaz and Nunez in Portuguese which they learned during their respective times with Porto and Benfica, but Firmino is one of the few in the playing body who have reached out to make the process smooth for both," the paper reported.

Firmino, who has already scored three goals in 12 games this season, has shown that his influence is not only important on the pitch, but also off it, as he told Desporto Ao Minuto a few days ago: "We understand each other well and it's not that we don't understand English, but we give them all the support we can. Particularly the new players who don't speak as much English, we help them with communication on the pitch. But by helping each other, it's a win-win situation.

Diaz will have a short break with Liverpool to concentrate on the Colombia national team for friendlies against Guatemala and Mexico on 24 and 27 September respectively. These matches will mark Néstor Lorenzo's debut in charge of the national team. He will then return to England to face Brighton on 1 October at home.
