His Liverpool are top of the Premier League and still alive in the League Cup (qualified for the final on 25 February against Chelsea), FA Cup (qualified for the fourth round) and Europa League (qualified for the last 16).
"For me, it was super, super, super, super important that I could help right the ship" after "a super-difficult season" last year, the former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund manager explained. Liverpool finished the season on a high but it was not enough to secure a ticket to the Champions League, a competition historically favoured by the Reds.
