Reds have not dipped into the January transfer market, there has been some late interest in a first team player.

Liverpool looks set to end the January transfer window without making any signings as the Reds continue their push in four separate competitions. A trip to Wembley has already been secured in the Carabao Cup and Liverpool is one of the favorites for the FA Cup and Europa League at present.

Jürgen Klopp's side extended its lead at the top of the Premier League to five points again by beating Chelsea on Wednesday and now faces a vital trip to Arsenal. Another three points would see Liverpool go eight clear of the Gunners. Yet despite the hectic second half of the season that awaits the Reds, Klopp has resisted the temptation to dip into the window. He has not been afraid to do in the past, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Luis Díaz all arriving mid-season.

It means Ryan Gravenberch is set to go down in the record books as Klopp's last ever signing following his switch in the summer. There have been more successes than failures over the years and his successor will be inheriting a very strong squad. Just two weeks after joining Port Vale on loan for the rest of the season, Rhys Williams has returned to Anfield. The 22-year-old spent the first half of the campaign at Aberdeen but was recalled after playing just once.

Williams was then sent out to the League One side but failed to make an appearance and Liverpool has now confirmed that the loan has been cut short due to an injury. He will now undergo his rehabilitation with his parent club. Jürgen Klopp has lauded Caoimhín Kelleher as the best number two goalkeeper in the world and the Republic of Ireland international continues to get opportunities in cup competitions. He has been a regular in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and will start at Wembley against Chelsea later this month.

No obstacles

It has been suggested he will look to leave Liverpool at the end of the season in an attempt to become a number one elsewhere and Klopp has indicated the club won't stand in his way. But according to the Athletic, he was offered a move during the January transfer window. The report states that Nottingham Forest, who have had goalkeeping issues all season, targeted Kelleher but Liverpool and Klopp were reluctant to let him go now as they would have struggled to replace him at this stage of the season.
