Darwin Núñez has had a very good start to the season, although the Uruguayan started the season with a lot of doubts about whether he was the right man to wear the number 9 shirt on Merseyside. His first few games in the Premier League this season were quite productive, and he quickly endeared himself to the fans.

While criticized at Anfield,Darwin Núñez is praised by a legend from his country
By the end of last year, Núñez went through a difficult period because although his numbers during the first few games gave him a lot of support, as the Uruguayan was not scoring goals, he was helping the team with movements to attract the mark of the rival defences, as well as contributing in goals with assists. He showed his desperation a couple of weeks ago when Nunez came out of the game against Newcastle and lamented not having scored, despite having made an assist.
The start of the year has shown that Nunez is a player who never gives up, as the Uruguayan has now reached a new Premier League record, as Darwin after scoring a brace against Bournemouth has become the first player in the Premier League to score 10 goals and provide 10 assists in all competitions.
This is a record that is unlikely to be broken by any other player, setting Nunez's first major scoring mark for the Reds. Becoming an increasingly important player for the team, as well as having a great eye for goal, he is a player with great sacrifice as he does not only stay static in the opponent's area, as he usually gets close to his teammates to help the circulation of the ball.

After Nunez had some games where he could not score or contribute in goals, the Uruguayan has continued to work, focused on correcting his mistakes, so December and January would be crucial months for Nunez, who had to show his improvement and the Uruguayan has not disappointed, now he has become the second highest scorer this season for the Reds and with great numbers, as Darwin now records 5 goals 1 assist with Uruguay. So the level of the Uruguayan has been fantastic.
