Barcelona have their sights set on strengthening their midfield for the winter transfer window that has just begun, and according to the latest reports, Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara has emerged as a prime target for the Catalan side in their search for reinforcements.
Thiago would thus have the chance to return to what was his home at the beginning of his career, before heading to Bayern Munich and Liverpool, where injuries have not allowed him to perform at the expected level on a regular basis, something that could complicate his arrival at the Catalan side, with the approval of Xavi Hernandez, who would be the great advocate for the arrival of the Spanish player, whose signing would serve to partly cover the absence of Gavi after his serious knee injury.
Barcelona's interest in Thiago responds to the need to improve a midfield that has been somewhat of a weak point in the Barça squad, with the Spanish player's return home being a point in favour of what could be one of the great signings of the Blue and Whites with a view to the second half of the championship, in a negotiation at a low cost as the player's contract ends on 30 June and Liverpool want to get rid of him as soon as possible.
The future of Liverpool's star midfielder Thiago Alcantara is fraught with uncertainty as he approaches the end of his contract in June. Renewal negotiations between the Spanish player and the English club have stalled, which has opened the door to other teams interested in acquiring his services. According to reports in the Daily Mail, one of the teams that have shown serious interest in Thiago is Inter Milan. The Italian club are reportedly willing to offer him a two-year contract, and more importantly, at a much lower price than he currently earns at Liverpool. This could be a tempting situation for Thiago, especially if he is looking for a change of scenery or a new challenge in his career.
