The changes at Merseyside do not seem to stop and they are still looking for alternatives to reinforce the team as best as possible. While the first changes have been fabulous for the Reds, having added to their ranks players like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who have undoubtedly had an excellent adaptation to the style of play of Jürgen Klopp.

Despite this, the Reds are now interested in signing one of the most promising talents in Asian football, as Liverpool are now very interested in signing Japanese striker Takefusa Kubo. Kubo is currently at Real Sociedad in the Spanish league, where he has been able to consolidate his career, having not had the opportunities he wanted at Real Madrid.
Kubo joined Los Merengues in 2019 as a free agent, after finishing his contract with FC Tokyo. Takefusa arrived at Real Madrid with the illusion that he could become one of the stars of the Spanish La Liga. However, his time at Los Blancos did not go as expected and he moved to Real Sociedad in 2022 for a fee of €6.5 million. With Real Sociedad this season, he has scored 6 goals and made 4 assists in 25 games played.
The 22-year-old Japanese is under contract until 2027 and his value has risen exponentially, as Sociedad paid €6.5 million for 50% of the transfer, and Kubo is now worth €60 million. So the Reds will have to pay a very considerable sum for the youngster, as he belongs to both Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.

While Liverpool are one of the teams who have shown the most interest in the Japanese youngster, it is understood that the Reds had already made enquiries for Kubo before the transfer window, but Takefusa seems to be very happy at Real Sociedad, so a transfer may not happen this season. However, Kubo is a team-mate of Reds player Wataru Endo in the Japan national team. They are currently playing together in the AFC Asian Cup, so Endo could be a big factor in Kubo signing for Liverpool.
