Mohamed Salah is so desperate to stay at Liverpool beyond this season that he has not even spoken to another team about a potential free agent move in the summer, according to reports in France.

Salah 's current contract expires at the end of the season and there has been little progress in talks over an extension, despite the Egyptian's repeated attempts to publicly pressure Liverpool to improve their offer.

Indeed, he recently hinted at an imminent exit from the club as he reflected on his time at Anfield in the past, having previously admitted that he felt "more out than in" due to the lack of progress in negotiations.

Al Hilal are known admirers of Salah. Their coach Jorge Jesus has even made public his desire to join the 32-year-old, while recent reports have pointed to Inter and Bayern Munich as possible suitors.

However, French publication Telefoot claim that Salah remains focused solely on securing a contract with Liverpool and is not even talking to other clubs about a free transfer, such is the strength of his desire to remain at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has insisted the club's desire to keep Salah is "clear" but talks over an extension have proved problematic, with rumours suggesting the Reds are reluctant to make a significant financial commitment to Salah as he approaches his 33rd birthday.

That stance has frustrated fans, who have seen perhaps the best football of Salah's career this year. With 30 goals and 22 assists in just 39 games, the Egypt international is a leading contender for the Ballon d'Or and is on course to break the Premier League record for assists in a single season.
