Mohamed Salah: "I'm Not Sure If I'll Stay at Liverpool Next Season"
Mohamed Salah, a key player for Liverpool, has left the door open for a potential move after this season amid growing speculation about his future. The Egyptian forward, who scored in the 2-1 victory over Lille on Tuesday and reached the remarkable milestone of 50 goals in European competitions with the Reds, admitted uncertainty about his continuity at the club.
Speaking after the match, Salah stated:
"I'm not sure about that, but I'll do my best," hinting at the doubts surrounding his future. However, he also expressed his desire to keep achieving milestones with the team:
"I hope this isn't the last [milestone]. But I'm very proud of it," he said about reaching the 50-goal mark.
The Egyptian also highlighted the difficulty of the match against Lille, a team that entered the game on a 21-match unbeaten run:
"I wasn't focused on the record before the game. [Lille] has a very good game plan, and they're a pretty tough team. I'm glad we managed to win that match."
Salah, who now ranks ninth on the all-time UEFA Champions League scorers list with 51 goals, has publicly pushed for Liverpool to meet his expectations in ongoing contract talks. However, the club has yet to present a concrete offer.
Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that Al Hilal, one of Saudi Arabia's football giants, is preparing a significant bid to secure Salah's signature this summer. This adds further uncertainty about whether Liverpool's all-time leading scorer in Europe will continue at Anfield to build on his legacy.
For now, Reds fans eagerly await a resolution that keeps their star forward at the club for seasons to come.
