Liverpool international defender Trent Alexander-Arnold suffered a knee injury and will be out for "a few weeks", the Premier League leaders announced on Tuesday. According to the report, the Three Lions player was injured in the Reds' FA Cup clash with Arsenal. The 25-year-old right-back was injured during the Reds' 2-0 FA Cup win over Arsenal on Sunday. He finished the game but "suffers a slight tear of the lateral knee ligament and will need time to recover," said assistant manager Pep Lijnders.
"He has undergone a scan and will be out for several weeks," he added. "Hopefully it will only be three weeks," said Germany assistant coach Jürgen Klopp. Alexander-Arnold will miss the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, Wednesday's game against Raul Jimenez's Fulham and could also miss Bournemouth (Jan. 21) and Chelsea (Jan. 31).
His absence is a blow for Liverpool, who are involved in four competitions (Premier League and Europa League, plus the two domestic cups) and currently sit top of the league with 45 points. So far in the 23/24 season, Alexander-Arnold has two goals and eight assists for the Reds, who are looking to win at least one title and finish in the Champions League places.
